The Camp Program

Howe Summer Camp is a great opportunity for boys, ages 9-15, to learn, grow, and gain self-confidence. Campers meet new friends, not to mention an opportunity to develop leadership skills, maturity and self-discipline. It would be our honor to partner with you in your son’s education and growth.  Howe is fully accredited by the American Camping Association (ACA).

Have fun:

Activities include: archery, rifle (with air pellets), LEGO Robotics, canoeing, golf, fishing and water sports –to name a few. Challenge ropes courses are taught by certified instructors. Howe Summer Camp offers snorkeling, SCUBA and horseback riding taught by a certified instructor and local professionals for an additional fee. A quickly evolving relationship with the Sea Scouts opens doors for a variety of options for your son and the Camp.

Train to lead:

Military training is part of the regular life at Howe Summer Camp. Standard military courtesy, prompt attention to orders and essentials necessary for leadership are stressed. Campers have the opportunity to earn rank and are taught drill and the Battalion Parade. Howe’s Senior Army Instructor (SAI) teaches Military Block to our campers. Our SAI has extensive experience teaching young men leadership, integrity, honor and self-discipline. In addition to this, Howe’s SAI follows the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) Course curriculum.

Learn to excel:

Academic classes are one of our most unique qualities offered at Howe Summer Camp. These classes provide a refresher course or a jump start for the upcoming school year in math and English and follow the college preparatory curriculum of The Howe School.

Enjoy nature:

Located on the shores of beautiful Cedar Lake (four miles from the campus of The Howe School) at Howe, Indiana, the camp’s grounds include 55 acres of woodland and open countryside.
