Howe uses a variety of approaches to financial aid. Most of the scholarship funds are used to help deserving cadets who have proven financial need. To assist as many students as possible, we provide small scholarships to many families, as opposed to granting large awards to only a limited number of students. The average award is about $4,000. About 40 percent of our students receive some form of financial aid.
Financial aid is awarded on a year-to-year basis. To apply for financial aid, the student’s parent(s) must submit an Application for Financial Assistance through the National Association of Independent Schools, School and Student Service for Financial Aid (NAIS/SSS) at sss.nais.org. Financial aid is awarded as a work-aid, music or academic scholarship; legacy and sibling discounts are also available. A student will not be awarded financial aid until he/she is accepted to the school.
