The cost of the 2011-2012 school year for tuition, room, board, uniforms, books, academic fees, school supplies, laundry, haircuts, and entertainment fees totals $32,000 ($19,100 for 2012 January semester), plus a $285 technology fee for high school and middle school cadets.  Medical, dental, transportation expenses and a spending allowance are not included in this total.  Also, there are additional fees for optional music instruction.  All international students must be covered by an international health insurance plan while attending The Howe School.

The Application Process for International Students

For acceptance into The Howe School, international students must supply the following:

  • A completed Howe School Application Form plus $100 application processing fee.
  • Two letters of recommendation from current teachers (preferably in English and Math) and one letter of recommendation from the Head of School or Guidance Counselor.
  • A current school transcript.
  • Proof of English proficiency.  Howe requires at least a SLEP score of 40.
  • Each applicant would also have to pass our school Admissions test which can be taken at the Howe School or sent to the student's current school and be administered by a teacher or librarian.

Once an international student is accepted into The Howe School, an I-20 document will be sent to the student so that he/she can apply for their F-1 Visa.  It is the responsibility of the student and their family to make an appointment for and to secure the needed Student Visa.  We sincerely hope that you will contact us today to learn more about The Howe School.
